Flower Children
"I've never seen so much flower power in my life!" said one guest at the "Peace, Love, Beaujolais Noveau" event that took place at the ultra hip Bagatelle restaurant on 13th street.
Flamboyant and outrageous, this hippie-era themed press "happening" and lunch has been going on for 27 years between Bill Deutsch, Mr. Georges Duboeuf and celebrated NYC journalists such as Florence Fabricant, Gael Greene, and many others in attendance.

Compagnons du Beaujolais
The Beaujolais Nouveau "Love Bus" showed up with Franck Duboeuf (the handsome silver haired son) and so-called Beaujolais Bikers. Rooting them on were flower children dressed in tie-dyed tea-shirts holding flowers. Given all the excitement, amazing cab drivers were able to maintain their composure.

Mark Oldman
After an uncorking ceremony we had some brief friendly speeches in honor of the event, memories of the first media lunch nearly a third of a century ago, and donations to the Go Orange hunger awareness campagne.
