Australian Wine “Landmark Australia”

Fabulous event today at Landmark in the Time Warner Center!
Landmark Australia Master Class 2011came to town, and the room was filled with some of the best sommeliers and wine writers in the city.
Riesling and Pinot Noir was the focus of the event - six young Rieslings, and six Rieslings with age to see their incredible development. The Pinot Noirs were an even more intense story, and the book that accompanied the tasting - along with the commentary by the wine making panel moderated by Michael Hill Smith (AM, MW) of Show + Smith was fabulous.
Fifteen Pinot Noirs, after tasting twelve of the most incredible Rieslings, was done at breakneck speed. It would have been incredible to spend the day sipping and comparing the wines, but alas, we had only a two hour window.
Very exciting to attend this presentation, and it really shaped a new perception for Australian Wines!
