Tapena comes to New York! Spanish Tapas Party
By Marisa D'Vari | March 24th, 2011 | Category: News | No Comments »Tapena, the Spanish wine from Friexenet with the friendly price, is now available in New York!
The celebration started with a party at the very cool Tia Pol located at 205 10th Avenue between 22nd and 23rd Streets in Chelsea. Beyond the delicious Spanish wine and fun music was the appearance of wine and food pairing expert Eva Bertran, who offered tips on throwing your own Spanish tapas party – full of flavor and de alegría de vivir (Spanish for the joy of living)!
Here's a link to some great recipes
Eva and I actually drank Tapena in Barcelona together at one of the coolest bars in the city, along with the kind of party food typical of a Tapas Bar.
Why Tapena? Why Now?
Tapeña offers a fresh, fruit forward style of Spanish wine. It is made by the Ferrer family (producers of Freixenet) whose Spanish wine experience dates back several centuries.
Today, the Ferrers operate over 11 wineries in Spain with sales all over the globe. I visited many of these properties with Eva last fall. You can see my experience with the properties here
