En Primeur 2013: Tasting at Chateau LagrangeBy Marisa D'Vari | April 30th, 2013 | Category: Bordeaux, Bordeaux En Primeur, News | No Comments »
It was a delightful treat to blind taste the 2012 vintage of Saint Julien, Pauillac, Saint Estephe and Haut Medoc at 3rd Growth Chateau Lagrange. Head winemaker Bruno Eynard welcomed journalists to the Chateau in a charming fashion, and made everyone feel comfortable.
Given the four regions to be tasted, it was a rather challenging afternoon – yet interesting to see the key differences between each appellation.
As is a running theme in coverage of these blind tasting events, the wine of Chateau Lagrange came out as one of my top scorers, with my notes of the 2012 vintage reflecting concentrated black fruits, vanilla, and tannins that can stand up well to years of cellar aging.
