En Primeur 2013: Tasting of Saint-Emilion and Pomerol at Chateau BeauregardBy Marisa D'Vari | April 30th, 2013 | Category: Bordeaux, Bordeaux En Primeur, News | No Comments »
What was most interesting the entire week, the Chateau hosting the tasting often had the highest rated scores!
In earlier posts, I explained that two groups of journalists (including myself) taste “blind” in that we make our notes before we get the list.
In the case of this tasting, Chateau Beauregard received an extremely high score, with my notes reflecting the attractive black opaque enticing color, and “incredible” flavors including an intense and enticing sense of black earth and an overwhelming complexity of flavors (coffee grounds, black fruit, a small amount of tart blue fruit, vanilla and licorice notes). I thought it was a wine to be savored now including the future.
