Fab fun event September 16th, when Rustic L.E.S. had a Gypsy Rock Band and a great selection of Moroccan wine to celebrate their first anniversary.
Sopexa is launching Domaine Ouled Thaleb wine – the oldest leading winery in Morocco with vineyards between Casablanca and Rabat.
I tried the wines, the whites were rich and full bodied, and the reds … a blend of grenache and other varieties, very earthy and satisfying.
Though Morocco has been making wine for 2500 years, its renaissance began in 1990 when French winemakers were invited to help revive the kingdom’s once famous wine industry.
Today Morocco is the largest producer of wine in the Arab world … and curiously, out of 40 million bottles produced, 37 are consumed domestically.
