Tasting Notes February 7, 2017

Tasting Sterling Vineyards Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon

Great 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon with good concentration of black fruit, zesty acidity, and a long finish. Good quality for the price, with just the right amount of French and Vanilla oak maturation (spicy, vanilla notes). Can pair well with many different types of food.

Impressive 2015 Chardonnay with lively acidity to balance the ripe fruit, and toasty vanilla notes from 90% French oak. Lots of clean, ripe apple and citrus flavors.

Vibrant 2016 Toad Hollow Dry Rose of Pinot Noir

Rose-colored wine is all the rage these days, and Toad Hollow is a delicious wine that can be enjoyed alone or with a meal of all types – salads, salmon, even chicken. The purity of fruit (raspberries, cherries) is strong here, and the wine ends with a crisp dry finish.
